it’s about that time to break out the grill for a season of outdoor cooking.
when we think about grilling meat, it is usually burgers, steak, or chicken. but, pork tastes amazing when grilled. and, of course it is the other white meat.
a great way to bring out the flavor of the pork is to marinade it before grilling.
a little asian flair doesn’t hurt. i like to add some asian flavors to my grilled pork such as, cilantro, lime, brown sugar, and of course fish sauce.
here’s a great recipe for asian style pork chops.
{cilantro lime pork chops with ginger- “asian style grilled pork chops”}
6-8 pork chops
1 cup finely chopped cilantro [reserve a little for garnish]
1/4 cup peeled grated ginger
2 TB soy sauce
2 TB fish sauce [found at your local asian market]
juice of one lime
2 TB brown sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 tsp – 1 TB red pepper flakes [depending on the heat you desire]
1-2 garlic cloves, minced
coarse salt and pepper
Place all the ingredients in a ziploc bag and marinade chops in the refrigerator 2-3 hours. grill for about 10 minutes.
serve with rice.
enjoy!
