Do you ever get bored with your usual dessert recipes? I know I do, and when I get bored I like to get creative and jazz up my desserts using simple ingredients that I can find in my pantry. I came up with this recipe because I love the flavor combination of chocolate, pretzels and caramel. It layers chocolate brownies with a pretzel crumble topping and it’s drizzled with caramel and milk chocolate chips. This is so delicious and will get rave reviews from your friends and family. Give them a try!!
Brownie cups with Pretzel Crumble, Caramel and Milk Chocolate
1 German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 egg
1/2 cup butter
In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, egg and butter until smooth. Scoop batter 2/3rds full into a muffin tin sprayed with non stick spray. Scoop 1 tablespoon pretzel crumble on top of brownie batter. Pat down lightly. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the edges are set.
Pretzel crumble
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 cup crushed pretzels
1/3 bag of caramels- melt in a saucepan until creamy
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Immediately after taking the brownie cups out of the oven, pour caramel over the cups, and then sprinkle with chocolate chip.
Enjoy!

Yum, thanks for sharing!

I tried this recipe and I need a little work with it. I made it in tart pans. I think I baked it too long, it is a little chewy. Had trouble with the caramels. They didn’t want to drizzle. Do you have a helpful suggestion for the carmels? I will definely try them again. Thanks for the recipes. I enjoy reading your blog.
Wow, this looks really good! Printing it off right now.
I made these yesterday, and they were yummy! I used a mini-muffin pan for bite-size treats, it worked great.
Karen: I added a couple tablespoons of water to the caramels when melting–it poured nicely, and after sitting until serving time firmed up a little but was still perfectly gooey.
YUM!!!! Thanks for the recipe
