I love flavoring olive oil. You can use it on garlic bread, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches (especially ones you want to grill/toast), add it to meats, grilled veggies, anything you like. It adds delicious flavor to everything you put it on.
flavored oil
olive oil
toasted sesame seeds
garlic, crushed
red pepper flakes
various dried herbs and spices
Toast sesame seeds by placing in a pan on medium heat, stirring the seeds around until slightly browned and aromatic. Flavor olive oil by adding the toasted sesame seeds, crushed fresh garlic, and any of your favorite spices. Allow ample time to seep, an hour or so. Then go ahead and use the oil brushing it directly on whatever it is you’re using it for. If you’d like, you can pour the oil through a cheesecloth separating the oil from the spices and cloves.
IMPORTANT: Store remaining oil in refrigerator (if there is any left) however it should be discarded within a few days. The water in the garlic cloves will cause a harmful bacteria to grow if kept at room temperature or longer than a week in the refrigerator. The best thing to do is make enough for what you’re making at the time; fresh is best.
