Have you ever made your own pumpkin puree instead of buying it in a can? Not only is it super easy, but it tastes fantastic as well!!
1 – Preheat the oven to 350F.
2 – Cut the pumpkin in half. (I always use the small sugar pumpkins, but I know people who have used the full sized pumpkins and love them as well!) Pull out all the seeds and remove the stringy insides by scraping the inside of the pumpkin with a metal spoon.
3 – Place the pumpkin halves cut side down in a baking dish or roasting pan. Put about 1 cup of water in the bottom of the pan and put the pan in the preheated oven.
4 – Roast the pumpkin until tender, about 90 minutes.
5 – Remove from the oven and scrape the flesh of the out of each pumpkin half. Put the flesh in a food processor and process until smooth. If you don’t have a food processor, you can use a potato masher – you will just have to work a little bit harder!
That’s it! You can use the puree for you favorite pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffin, or pumpkin soup!

Cool!
