Happy Thanksgiving!!

We hope you are having an amazing Thanksgiving, and can share a day of giving thanks with your loved ones.

With thanks in our hearts today, I am sure we are all aware  that we have much to be thankful for.

Unfortunately, there are still many in our own communities that are in need and could use our help more than ever before.

Here are just a few ways you can help:

Donations

Food Donations:

{Catholic Community Services}
Provide 1,100 hot meals daily to those in need, just at the St Vincent dePaul location.  They accept donations at their location in Salt Lake City.  They will also take perishable foods as well as toiletries and other items for those in need.

St. Vincent’s dePaul Resource Center

{Utah Food Bank}
The Utah food bank gathers and distributes emergency food to those in need.  They accept donations at various locations throughout the state.

Volunteer:

If you’d like to be more hands on, there are many ways to volunteer.

Here are just a few ideas:

  • Plan a community food drive
  • Volunteer to sort food at local food pantry warehouses
  • Collect and assemble hygiene kits to donate
  • Help teach and tutor refugees
  • Volunteer to deliver food boxes
  • Volunteer to serve meals at a local cafeteria that serves those in need

Again, Happy Thanksgiving to all!
We hope these ideas will help you to get involved in helping those in need in our community.
