We have been branching out from our regular morning breakfast of oatmeal to have smoothies and toast on particularly warm(er) days. And by warm I mean above 40 degrees! We usually just throw things together in the blender and hope for the best. Is that how you like to make smoothies? We figure if you combine a lot of yummy fresh or frozen fruit with some yogurt or milk, it will turn out great no matter what.
We loved this one so much we decided to share.
blueberry smoothies
2 cups blueberries
2 frozen bananas
1 orange
1 cup fruit juice
1 cup almond or regular milk, plus more
a few strawberries
handful of spinach, optional
a drizzle of agave
ice, optional
fresh blueberries, chia seeds, maple sweetened coconut cream (to garnish)
Combine all ingredients into blender, except ice. Blend until smooth, adding more juice or milk until it gets to the consistency you like. Add a handful or two of ice at the end, blending until smooth.
Serve with fresh blueberries, a sprinkle of chia seeds, and a swirl of sweetened coconut cream.
you’re bound to have a lovely morning.

I always add spinach to our smoothies, and I LOVE almond milk in them! We too just dump a bunch of stuff in and hope it turns out good. The problem is that when it does turn out good, I don’t know how much I put in of what so that I can duplicate it!
I’m a big fan of the raw smoothies, like the green smoothies you can find here, probably the best option in terms of health. http://greensmoothiesblog.com
