S’mores with a French Twist

August 2nd, 2011 - by

If you love the idea of s’mores, but want to add a gourmet twist, give these French-inspired s’mores a go next time you head out to camp.  They are super easy, less messy and better than anything you’ve tasted around the campfire!

The most important ingredient for these s’mores are these delicious Dark Chocolate 45% cocoa Petite Ecolier cookies by LU, a French cookie company.  They consist of a yummy buttery biscuit, which is a nice change from the usual graham cracker, and quality chocolate melded into one tempting treat.  And don’t you worry, they are available at many grocery stores here in the US!  You’ll want to call ahead though before you head out to buy these as the dark chocolate version tends to be tougher to find.  I had to call 3 stores before I found one that carried this variety–most just carry the milk chocolate version. If you want to go really gourmet, opt for the 70% cacao version–wow, it’s tasty if you love dark chocolate.  Just think of all the anti-oxidants you’ll be taking in :)

So basically this is the equation:

Enjoy and happy camping!
