test kitchen: african chicken & peanut

March 22nd, 2009 - by

This unique recipe exceeded our expectations in the test kitchen. Our African Chicken & Peanut soup is made up of a rich peanut base, hearty potatoes and is balanced by the perfect amount of heat. You won’t find another creation out there like this. It took several different tests to get the creaminess and consistency just right.  A good amount of fresh ginger is added and adds a refreshing touch.  The recipe combination comes together beautifully and is a contender for our top 10 list.

Now serving at all of our 5 locations including our new restaurant in American Fork. Bon Apetit!

test kitchen: pineapple & sweet potato chowder

March 9th, 2009 - by

Our new and unique recipe straight from the test kitchen this week is a definite keeper. The combination of pineapple and sweet potatoes in a rich chowder is unlike anything you have ever had before. Our biggest challenge was creating the perfect amount of spice to compliment the sweet flavors of the pineapple and coconut.  After a few rounds of getting it just right, we knew that we had created a winner. The originality and incredible flavor in this chowder qualifies it as one of our absolute favorites.

This week we will be creating the perfect soup to celebrate the upcoming holiday: Traditional Irish Stew.

menu: California Turkey Grilled Panini

May 10th, 2008 - by

I’m finally convinced that Spring is here and Summer is quickly approaching. To celebrate I ordered the California Turkey panini at Zupas this week. It was absolutely delicious!

The avocado on this California Turkey Panini is the star for me. Perfectly in season, this rich addition to the sandwich paired with fresh tomatoes, sprouts, muenster cheese, and ranch dressing seems to create an ideal lunch for a warm day. To top off the sandwich experience, Zupas always grills their paninis providing just enough crunch and the luxury of melted cheese.

Just writing about this sandwich has me hungry for another one…

b is for berries

May 2nd, 2008 - by

Nuts About Berries…I’ve been nuts about this salad ever since I first tried it years ago. The sweet combination of fresh berries, poppyseed dressing, and cinnamon roasted almonds is like a perfect marriage in a salad bowl. I enjoy this salad so much that I tried to recreate it for a dinner party. It was a hit… although, I think it was still missing the Zupas touch.
