Our Salmon Chowder has been a hit in the test kitchen since its creation. Zupas employees love this recipe and have claimed it as one of their favorites. Irish Stew: Now Available until March 17

March 5th, 2012 - by

We enjoy the opportunities we have to create recipes that coincide with a holiday.  St. Patrick’s Day is known for wearing green, pinching and our favorite…Irish Stew. We worked on getting the ratio of potatoes, cabbage and vegetables just right to create this hearty recipe.  It was important to us to implement as much authenticity in this classic Irish dish as possible.  After a good amount of research (and taste testing) we came up with a Café Zupas version that is sure to please.  Celebrate your St. Patrick’s Day with a bowl of our new Irish Stew.

Visit any of our restaurants on March 2nd and 3rd (Friday and Saturday) and purchase any of our delicious desserts and we will donate 100% of the price of that dessert to to the Primary Children’s Medical center. Now that’s a win-win deal.

Primary Children’s is a premier children’s hospital, one of only 50 free-standing, full service pediatric hospitals in the United States. Friday & Saturday Mar 2nd-3rd we will be donating 100% of all dessert sales to Primary Children’s to serve the children of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and Montana.

Did you know that Primary Children’s is the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center serving the Intermountain West? They are one of nine core sites for the Pediatric Heart Network, and the only site located in the western United States.

Last year, Primary Children’s expended $12.4 million to cover 13,587 hospital visits by needy children. The Newborn Intensive Care Unit treats nearly 600 newborns a year, and has an amazing survival rate of 95 percent!

Come in during Mar 2nd-3rd, buy a dessert for yourself, and Treat the Children at Primary Children’s Medical Center to your much needed support. Visit PRIMARY CHILDREN’S DONATIONS PAGE for more information on how your contribution can help.

Italian White Bean & Sausage Soup- Available Through March 3rd!

February 19th, 2012 - by

This recipe exceeded our expectations from the start. Our Italian White Bean & Sausage is full of fresh vegetables and a variety of spices and herbs that come together to make a delicious bowl of soup.

We tested several different herb/spice combinations to get this soup just right. It was important to us that this soup was a hearty blend of white beans, sausage and fresh vegetables. We increased the amounts of all of these fresh ingredients to make it more substantial…this soup really is a whole meal wrapped up into 1 bowl.

French Onion Soup for Valentine’s Day

February 13th, 2012 - by

Back by popular demand. We spent weeks altering the amount time we cooked the onions, trying different cheese varieties on the crouton, and getting the broth base perfectly balanced. We put a lot of “love” into this recipe and we think you will be able to tell. In addition to a delicious bowl of full flavored soup, each serving will be topped with a heaping amount of asiago cheese and 2 croutons that have been toasted with olive oil and asiago as well. Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to have a classic bowl of French Onion soup. Stop by for a bowl at any of our locations this week and let us know what you think! Hurry, this soup is only available until February 18.

Banana Crumb Muffins

February 8th, 2012 - by

I have a bit of an addiction to muffins.  Some people go crazy for cupcakes, but for me, there is nothing better than whipping up a batch of muffins.  I was staring down some over-ripe bananas on my counter last weekend, and couldn’t think of anything better to do than make muffins.  As I went to pull out the muffin tin, I saw my jumbo muffin tin staring me down, and realized that I hadn’t made anything in it in quite some time.  So jumbo muffins it was!!
