Destination #9 Germany: German Sausage and Potato Soup

When we set out to create our new German Sausage & Potato recipe, we envisioned a creamy soup rich with texture & the perfect balance of spice.

The simple yet satisfying flavor of the potato is the star ingredient of this recipe complimented by spicy sausage and scattered with petite peas.

It’s a rare occasion that we get the recipe just right the first couple of rounds of testing, but it did not take long for us to fall in love with this recipe.  Our German Sausage & Potato has everything you could want in a winter soup.

Our new and unique recipe straight from the test kitchen this week is a definite keeper. The combination of pineapple and sweet potatoes in a rich chowder is unlike anything you have ever had before. Our biggest challenge was creating the perfect amount of spice to compliment the sweet flavors of the pineapple and coconut.  After a few rounds of getting it just right, we knew that we had created a winner. The originality and incredible flavor in this chowder qualifies it as one of our absolute favorites.

Our World Tour is back and we are more excited than ever. Our first stop on our World Tour: USA.

This featured recipe has been one our biggest hits and is loved by our staff. If you are looking for the perfect bowl of soup that is full of fresh vegetables and herbs, look no further! Our Garden Chowder is the perfect way to enjoy fresh vegetables to their fullest. The creamy consistency is complimented by the delicate herbs and spices in this dish. We spent weeks getting this dish just right in our test kitchen and the flavor is there to prove it. It is a favorite among our staff and has been brought back several times by popular demand. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy this classic, yet unique dish that will have you coming back for more. All Zupas locations will be serving the Garden Chowder through Saturday, September 4th.

After a very busy Holiday Season, we are pleased to announce two new Cafe Zupas locations–Layton & Downtown Salt Lake City. We have had many requests to open a Cafe Zupas in the Northern part of Utah and we did our best to deliver. To kick things off we want to make sure everyone knows that we have just started our second “Cafe Zupas World Tour.” So come on in, get your passport, and prepare to send your tastebuds on a tour of 10 new delicious destinations.
